Xiaomi Mi5 and Mi4s Specs | Price | Release Date | Rumours | Leaked Pics Lets deep dive into what we believe will be updated in the upcoming Mi phones. Processor: Xiaomi Mi4s will be loaded with the latest Snapdragon 810 whereas the Xiaomi Mi 5 and Xiaomi Mi5 Plus will certainly be equipped with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 with 64 bit computing and 8 CPU cores (4 Cortex-A57 and 4 Cortex-A53 cores). This processor is designed for most advance mobile user experience, this includes streaming Ultra HD 4k videos, best quality photos along with great battery life. Touch ID: Xiaomi seem to be working on the Touch ID sensor for nothing else but their Mi5. There were rumours that Xiaomi Mi4i would come with a Touch ID and now rumours of Xiaomi Mi4s are taking fire of this device also having Touch ID. But we believe that Mi5 would be their first device with the Touch ID and not the Xiaomi Mi4s. Another level of security feature that Xiaomi is working on is the Retina Sensor which would scan an eye retina in microseconds and unlock phone. This new piece of technology is not coming out very soon as this will need some really precise retina scan technology which is still in testing phase. Water Resistant: Get ready to take your Xiaomi Mi 5 and Mi 5 Plus out for a pool party or to a beach this time. With an IP rating of 67, Xiaomi is trying hard to make this phone to be one of the best Water Resistant phones in the market. Reports reveal that Xiaomi is working really hard to give this phone a feature which lacked in their previous devices. With phones like Sony Xperia Z series in the market, users are getting more used to of water proof phones. Waterproof phone is a necessity nowadays as we use phone all time everywhere, its obviously not a bad idea to make the user feel as safe as possible about their device. The new technology that China is working on might make a phone so sturdy that it will never break on 2-3 m falls. But that surely is not happening anytime soon for Xiaomi Mi4s, Xiaomi Mi5 or the Xiaomi Mi5 Plus Mobile Gaming: With immense power Xiaomi Mi 5 might save your money if you are lately planning to buy a dedicated gaming console. With the deadly combination of the 4k HD video streaming and Generation Next IR Blaster, this Xiaomi device will at once be able to connect to your Ultra HD big screens through HDMI and with the dedicated remote control to give you the real gaming experience. With the Adreno 430 GPU the visual experience will be terrific. For high performance the Xiaomi Mi 5 will be equipped with the highest possible processor configuration i.e. Qualcomm Snapdragon 810. The latest processor does have the capacity to bring all your games into a small Xiaomi Mi4s or the Xiaomi Mi5 External Phone Coolers: As the main issue remains for mobile devices for such high computation for longer time is the heat up issue. The market today is working on developing some external coolers for phones when the phone works at that high computation power. Mobile phone games today are designed keeping in mind the capability of the handheld but this technology will give them an opportunity to break the barriers of mobile phone computing. Game designers are designing special games which could optimally utilise this power. To deliver ultra high performance the mobile phone today lacks 2 things, 1. Device Heat up 2. Power But if both these things can be taken care of externally. the problem will be sorted then. Fans are just awaiting to see how Xiaomi executes this. Well this is something really new in the market !! Display: With Snapdragon 820 processor, the new Xiaomi Mi 5 phone might be loaded with a 2k Ultra HD Screen. 5 inch IPS LCD capacitive touch display, and the Xiaomi Mi5 Plus with a screen size of 6 inches with the same pixel density as that of the Xiaomi Mi5. We are not expecting a screen size update for Mi5 as a screen bigger than 5 inches might place the phone in the fablet category which Xiaomi would never want. Xiaomi Mi4s should be with a 5 inch screen as well. Camera: ISOCELL powered 20.7 MP rear and 8 MP Front camera. Sources say that Xiaomi talked about launching their 20.7 MP camera in the late 2014, rumours indicated that Xiaomi would introduce this with Mi4 but that also seems to be missing. So the best candidate for their 20.7 MP camera would now be the Mi5 Xiaomi and the Mi5 Plus. To stay into the competition where buyers judge the quality of imaging by the number of Megapixel. Xiaomi Mi4s is expected with a more powerful camera than the Xiaomi Mi4, with a new image stabilisation technology. Race of Higher Megapixels: With the other phones like Sony Experia Z1 (20.7 MP) and the Nokia Lumia 1020 (41 MP), if we talk about the Megapixels(MP) then 16MP seems to be an old story. And rumours also indicate that this camera update will be an ISOCELL chipped camera which means much better imaging in dark. ISOCELL allows each pixel to isolate which in turn allows the sensor to collect more light per pixel resulting in a higher lighted image. Other additional features: USB 3.0 On The Go (OTG) will give you the luxury to transfer files much faster then ever before. The phone will be able to communicate much faster to the external device connected which ultimately will improve the user experience. This will also give room to a lot of other speed data transfer functionalities. Xiaomi Mi 5 and Xiaomi Mi5 Plus are expected to come with a 4 GB of RAM and in 3 storage memory variants i.e. 32 GB, 64 GB and 128GB. With the increase on processing power we are also expecting a bit of improvement in the battery as well, with the previous Mi phone equipped with 3080 mAh of battery power this time the battery will be around 3200 mAh . Now if you compare the iPhone 6 vs Xiaomi Mi5, the winner in all aspects will be Xiaomi Mi5, be it power, beauty or price. How we think Xiaomi Mi5 and Xiaomi Mi5 Plus might look like: Design rendered by Chen Li. This is a concept made by one of our designers putting in the expectations that we have from the Xiaomi Mi 5. This concept has the full metal body frame which is very thin and sideblades are lined with black gunpowder metal. Phone is very thin in its fell but for the user to feel stronger the material used for the phone is high quality Steel AM Alloy.
