After introducing curved screen phones in the Galaxy Note 4 Edge , Samsung is now planning to introduce a smartphone with a screen that can be folded .Reported by ZDNet , Wednesday ( 11/18/2014 ) , and quoted by KompasTekno , Samsung Display plans to produce flexible displays for smartphones that can be folded in half . " We plan to create a production capacity of 30,000 to 40,000 ( flexible display each month ) at the end of next year ( 2015 ) , " he said Lee Chang - hoon , Vice President of Business Strategic Team Samsung Display , the Samsung chance Investor Forum 2014 in New York , US ." No other company ( except Samsung ) which has a production capacity of it in 2016 , " added Lee .With the folding screen technology , Samsung said Lee would make smartphones with flexible screens in late 2015 .

Currently , the focus of the company , according to Lee , is to prepare the appropriate folding screen smartphone for consumers , while increasing the plant's production capability of up to 2016 Samsung screen .Lee also said that Samsung Display is trying to lower the cost of production of the AMOLED screen used Galaxy smartphones in order to compete with cheaper LCD screen .
Folding screen smartphone strategy is to be a part of Samsung's efforts to compete in the premium smartphone class , business considering that the South Korean manufacturer globally is currently declining .
Meanwhile , another strategy used Samsung to get back on track is to lower the price of low-end smartphones as well as reducing the amount of smartphones they produce each year between 20 and 30 percent .
